Today, the House passed HR 1732, the Regulatory Integrity Protection Act. This bill requires the EPA and Army Corps of Engineers to withdraw the proposed “Waters of the United States” rule that would have radically expanded federal regulation over bodies of water in the United States. The bill also charges them with proposing a new rule and instructs the agencies to work with state and local governments and other stakeholders who could be impacted directly or indirectly. The legislation seeks to... Read more

  • Congressman Jim Bridenstine Promotes Lifting Ban on U.S. Crude Oil Exports
Posted in Press Releases on April 30, 2015 | Preview rr

America is experiencing a tremendous energy renaissance. Last month, U.S. crude oil production was the highest since 1973. The U.S. has surpassed Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest producer of petroleum including natural gas. This astonishing rate of production has resulted in inventory accumulation. Nationwide, U.S. total crude oil inventories are at the highest level in 85 years. Cushing Oklahoma, about 50 miles west of my home in Tulsa, is the largest crude oil storage hub in the country. Tw... Read more

Last week, Congressman Jim Bridenstine introduced H.R. 1864, bipartisan legislation to streamline the Department of Defense and enhance the Pentagon’s use of commercial satellite communications (SATCOM) services. Our warfighters rely on persistent and reliable SATCOM to communicate information and share data. Without robust and dependable SATCOM, America’s military quickly becomes deaf, dumb, and blind. • Congressman Jim Bridenstine Votes for Fiscal Responsibility

I cast another vote for the American taxpayer and against fiscal irresponsibility today. The House of Representatives passed a package to permanently repeal and replace Medicare’s Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR). I voted against the package. While I support an SGR replacement, I cannot vote in favor of a bill that costs more than $200 billion, while Congress only pays for $70 billion, leaving more than $130 billion to our children and grandchildren. We cannot continue to solve every problem by add... Read more

Posted in Press Releases on March 4, 2015 | Preview rr

Statement from Congressman Jim Bridenstine (R, OK-1): Today I voted against HR 749, the passenger rail bill which authorizes funding primarily for Amtrak. 100 other republicans joined me in attempting to stop First District taxpayers from subsidizing government passenger rail transport. Congress should be phasing out federal funding for Amtrak. Instead, this bill increases authorization levels between 2016-2019 and makes it easier for Amtrak to access taxpayer-backed debt. An amendment offered b... Read more
