New emission rules will create winner "green" states in the Northeast, California and the West able to make money selling credits to a big majority of loser states that don't make the cut, detractors say. Rep. Jim Bridenstine, R-Okla., chairman of the House science committee's environment subcommittee, raised the issue during a Friday hearing into state attitudes toward the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Power Plan. The plan forces states to cut greenhouse gas emissions by a third by 20... Read more

It’s time to start exporting American oil for the benefit of the U.S. economy and national security according to First District Congressman Jim Bridenstine. He spoke at the Pipeline & Energy Expo held at the Cox Convention Center on Tuesday. Bridenstine and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) co-authored The American Energy Renaissance Act. “When you look at Russia, 50 percent of the revenue coming into Russia is oil money from Eastern and Central Europe,” Bridenstine said. “Those countries don’t want to be... Oklahoma congressman Jim Bridenstine couldn’t be on hand for a Capitol Hill news conference this week where U.S. House members announced bi-partisan support for a move to lift the ban on U.S. crude oil exports. But he still offered his support. “Exporting U.S. crude will increase world supply and drive down international crude oil prices. The result will be lower gasoline prices at the pump in the U.S.,” said the Representative from Tulsa. Bridenstine had planned to be a part of the news confere... Read more

America is experiencing a tremendous energy renaissance. Last month, U.S. crude oil production was the highest since 1973. The U.S. has surpassed Saudi Arabia as the world’s largest producer of petroleum including natural gas. This astonishing rate of production has resulted in inventory accumulation. Nationwide, U.S. total crude oil inventories are at the highest level in 85 years. Cushing Oklahoma, about 50 miles west of my home in Tulsa, is the largest crude oil storage hub in the country. Tw... Read more

The House passed a bill Wednesday that aims to increase public scrutiny of the scientific research behind Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. Passed 241-175, the GOP bill would prohibit the EPA from using so-called “secret science” to justify its rules. Instead, the EPA would have to make public the details of all the research upon which its rules rely. If a rule’s science isn’t made public, the EPA would not be allowed to write the rule. The legislation is sponsored by Rep. Lamar... Read more

On November 11th, President Obama unilaterally committed the U.S. to even steeper greenhouse gas reductions that will have a negligible effect on global temperatures. The President has shown that he will stop at nothing to implement a radical green agenda. Speaking with the Chinese president, President Obama, without the consent of Congress, unilaterally committed America to bring its greenhouse gas emissions down to levels 26 to 28 percent below 2005 levels by 2025.
