I cosponsored and today I voted in favor of the Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act, H.R. 5078. Time and time again, we have seen this administration use the regulatory process to increase the federal governmentÍs authority, bypass Congressional intent, and trample on statesÍ rights. The proposed rule from the EPA and Corps of Engineers to expand the scope of the Clean Water Act is just another in a series of power grabs by an imperial president. Under this proposed r... Congressman Jim Bridenstine applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for passing three bills this week moving toward a comprehensive energy strategy. "I supported all three bills. Much of the language is identical to my comprehensive energy legislation introduced in March, the American Energy Renaissance Act." This week's legislation reduces burdensome and unnecessary regulations on the oil and natural gas industry: The Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act (HR 6) expedites the approval ... Read more

The Obama Administration has taken major steps toward shutting down the US coal industry, a stated goal from his presidential campaign. The Environmental Protection Agency proposed sweeping new regulations to limit so-called 'greenhouse gas" emissions from existing coal-fired power plants. These regulations would make coal-powered electrical generation in the US uneconomical. Under this plan, "electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket" as the President promised in his 2008 campaign. To what ... Read more

This week, the House Energy and Commerce Committee is expected to mark up H.R. 6, the Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act, introduced by Rep. Cory Gardner (R-CO). The bill is a timely proposal that would expedite approval for the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to nations that are members of the World Trade Organization. As a matter of public policy, increasing domestic energy production and lifting the ban on energy exports would greatly benefit American consumers and the economy a... Read more

In his State of the Union Address the President said his Administration's energy policy is creating jobs and that oil and gas production is booming. But that's only half true, the last half. The President's policies inhibit U.S. energy production and transportation at every turn. The U.S. oil and gas production boom is occurring on private and state lands, not on lands and offshore areas under federal control. Moving oil from producing areas in Canada and the U.S. to domestic refineries is vital... Read more

This week, the House of Representatives passed three bills that, if enacted, would move America closer than ever to true energy independence and energy security for decades to come. Congressman Jim Bridenstine voted for these bills, which all passed with bi-partisan support. "Restoring state sovereignty and increasing domestic energy production are two of my highest priorities in Congress, and the bills passed by the House this week would accomplish just that," said Bridenstine. "Oklahoma can he... Read more
