Invitation to Prime Minister Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address a joint session of Congress in early March. The Prime Minister’s visit comes as Israel faces grave threats from sworn enemies on its borders and Iran’s ongoing, unimpeded nuclear weapons development and missile delivery program. Support for Israel within the United States has always been strong, consistent and bipartisan. Israel shares our values and is our closest ally in the Middle East. Israel’s security and our own are inseparable.

It’s important that America demonstrate the breadth and depth of its unwavering support for the Israeli people in every way possible.

As one such expression of support, this week I personally delivered a letter to Israel’s Embassy in Washington. My letter is an invitation to Prime Minister Netanyahu to visit Oklahoma while he is in the United States. I’m well aware that the Prime Minister’s schedule is unlikely to allow travel to Oklahoma in March. However, I want the Prime Minister and the people of Israel to know that Americans all across our nation and of both political parties are enthusiastic and immovable in their support for Israel.

I’m confident that the Prime Minister will be given a warm welcome by the U.S. Congress. I look forward to a time when Prime Minister Netanyahu and Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer can visit Oklahoma and experience a truly remarkable outpouring of support for Israel.
